Dr Joseph Muscente is a 1994 graduate of The SUNY College of Optometry. After graduation, Dr. Muscente completed a residency in ocular disease treatment and management at The FDR VA Hospital in Montrose, New York.
Upon completion of his residency, Dr Muscente was a clinical instructor at The University Optometric Center in NYC. He was also a staff at the Brooklyn VA Medical Center in Brooklyn NY. There, he supervised students from several Colleges of Optometry. He was also the "Saturday Doctor" for many years at Terri Optics.
Dr Muscente was in private practice in Yonkers for ten years. Most recently, he has moved on to a new passion, education. Currently, he is the principal of St. Paul School in East Harlem.
Dr. Muscente has presented posters, papers and lectures on topics including: Macular Holes, Primary Eyecare of The Cancer Patient, Malignant Melanomas and Ocular Manifestations of systemic disease.
A fellow of The American Academy of Optometry, Dr. Muscente is a clinical examiner for The National Board of Examiners in Optometry.
Dr Muscente is so glad to be back at Terri Optics working with Teresa and staff.
