Teresa Gelsi, NYS Licensed Optician and Contact Lense Fitter
Teresa was born and bred in Dobbs Ferry. After going to school and working in the city she wanted to bring her technical prowess and artistic flair to her hometown. She paired up with her father, Dr. Joseph Gelsi, the local eye doc, and has been going strong ever since. Her passion and enthusiasm for dressing people’s faces carry through to all aspects of Terri Optics. In her spare time, Teresa loves outdoor activities with her husband Stanley.
Marianna Covello, Office Manager and Stylist
Marianna Covello burst into the Terri Optics scene in 2008 and she has been shaking things up ever since! Marianna’s flair for style and bubbly personality have clients coming back year after year for pair after pair! Marianna’s discerning eye and sophisticated style guarantees a perfect eyewear fit!
Dr. Joseph Muscente, O.D., M.S., FAAO
Dr. Joseph Muscente is a graduate of SUNY College of Optometry in 1994. After completing Optometry school, Dr. Muscente completed a Residency in Hospital Based Optometry / Ocular Disease at the FDR VA Hospital in Montrose, MY.
Dr. Muscente then became a clinical instructor at the SUNY College of Optometry and a staff optometrist at the Brooklyn VA Medical Center / St. Albans VA.
Dr. Muscente is now an attending doctor at the Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, Dept. of Ophthalmology. There, he works closely with ophthalmologists, residents and students providing comprehensive medical eyecare to all patients.
Dr. Susanne Vasquez, O.D.
Susanne Vasquez O.D. Is the newest addition to Terri Optics. She graduated in 1995 from SUNY Optometry and has been a part of the Westchester community for 20 years. Having been licensed in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York she has had the opportunity to practice in offices that specialize in specialty contact lenses, ocular disease, low vision and vision training. Her husband is a Retinal specialist and her daughter and son are on the pre-med track at college hoping to keep eye care all in the family. Susanne enjoys Tae Kwon Do(Black Belt), yoga, tennis, zumba and traveling. She can converse in English, Tagalog and Spanish(basic).
Dr. Jay Desai, O.D.
Dr. Desai is a resident of Irvington. He graduated from the College of Optometry - University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1998.
His practices broad scope Optometry with an emphasis in glaucoma management, diabetic eyecare, and the education of nutrition for the eyes. When he is not examining eyes he likes to cook and spend time with his two young children
