We were the first in the area to invest in a line of “build your own” bespoke frames. It has been a huge hit with our patients and clients! Our Story
Teresa Gelsi’s father, Dr Joseph Gelsi, OD was the founder of the practice. He was the eye doctor to go to in the area. Growing up she watched and learned from him, fascinated by the wonders of the human eye and how vision played a leading role in a person’s life. Once, in grade school, Teresa brought a fisheye in for show and tell. Her classmates were appalled at the floating eyeball, but she thought it was the coolest thing!
Over the years, she developed a strong attachment and love for the optical profession. Her passion and desire to help people led to her career path where school and New York State licensing in Ophthalmic Dispensing and Contact lens fitting followed. In 1982, she joined her father in his practice. In 1989 Teresa purchased the practice from her father and renamed it Terri Optics. She has been running with it ever since.
Today, she and her team have the honor of caring for generations of family members. We prioritize our patients and clients to make the eyecare experience extraordinary. We are your destination for eyecare and eyewear!
